North Dakota Firefighter’s Association
Comprehensive recruitment and retention campaign consisting of video and print materials
North Dakota Firefighter’s Association
KAT produced multiple deliverables to be used by local chiefs to recruit in their community centers or for local establishments to place throughout the state, targeting millennials and encouraging them to volunteer.
In 2016, 98% of North Dakota firefighters were volunteer, with many firefighters reaching retirement age or burnout and many stations unable to meet OSHA safety standards with their current workforce. To ensure the campaign saw the results it desired, frequent calls were placed to every station across North Dakota to record the number of new recruits during the four-year campaign. Over 3,000 individuals became volunteer firefighters during the campaign years, an impressive and lifesaving result.
